Types of questions
There are two main types of questions, open and closed
Open-ended questions are ones that require more than one word answers. Such a question could be what do you plan on doing today?
Closed questions are ones that only require one word answers. A question like ‘Are you feeling better?’ is an example of such a question.
Open questions allow the person being asked to take control of the conversation and put in their opinion. Closed questions allow the current speaker to maintain control of the conversation.
Speed of response
There are varying speeds a question can be answered with.
Quickly-By answering a question quickly it can show you are adept in what the questioner is asking you and that perhaps you feel strongly about the subject.
Slowly-By taking time to answer a question it can show either you are deep in thought and thinking of an appropriate response or that you don’t really know what you’re talking about.
Somewhere in between-By answering a question to too fast, but not too slowly either can show just enough that you are considering a thought out response but also that you know what it is you are being asked.
